What a legendary singer of our times passed away on Sunday in Chennai – but people representing Kannada cinema there were only two personalities – Shivaramanna and KSL Swamee.

None from the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, music department and other friends of Dr PBS visited to pay last respect.

Dr Jayalalithaa Tamil Nadu Chief minister paid last respect and union minister Rajendra Balaji was also one among other dignitaries visited the house of Dr PBS.

At the residence of Dr PB Srinivas in Chennai the noted playback singer S Janaki broke down after putting the ‘Mallige Haaara’ on the body of Mysore Peta fit 82 years singer who passed away on Sunday afternoon. Tears dropped from the eyes of S Janaki while another contemporary singer to PBS – P Susheel looked stunned with the passing away of the doyen of playback singing.

Dr PBS and S Janaki have together given many hits in Kannada and other languages. He was the most humble singer I have ever seen in my life stated S Janaki.

S Janaki first duet song was with PBS in ‘Magadal Naattu Mary’ Tamil film.
